Okay so the Sony BDP-S360 needs a re-review since it has became one of the best selling items currently on Amazon along with a few other brands of Blu Ray Players like Panasonic DMP-BD70V and Sylvania NB530SLX. The Sony BDP-S360 may not be as high end as the newer Samsung BD-C6900 3D Blu Ray Player or the same brand as the Sony BDP-S570 Blu Ray Player but one thing that separates the entry level Sony BDP-S360 is that right now its selling hot like pancakes.

Well, atleast for amazon it was selling like pancakes, that site that daily makes a sale on its online site, its cannot be ignored. The Sony BDP-S360 is not your Blu Ray Player if you are looking for a lot of features such as internet connectivity, the ability to stream videos and media content online like on Netflix, Amazon Video On Demand, YouTube, or Pandora and it has no wifi capability either.

You see, if you are considered one of the late bloomers when it comes to technology then you should not look into the Sony BDP-S360, but if your concern is value and the ability to play blu ray movies then this can be a cheap but fair bet. You must know that the Sony BDP-S360 model is one of the new breed of Bluray players in its time. You can consider it as one of the first Blue Ray Players that sony released for their stand along Blu Ray players last year.

It can also be considered as one of the simplest blu ray players since all of the basic components are there, the ability to play blu ray media and content (which is of course the main gyst of products like these), and other main components like the BD Live capability of some blu ray movies and media.

I dont know, but if you would ask me, I would still go for Sony brands as they have been the one who set the standard on playing Blu ray media, PS3… remember?…. but I cannot recommend the BDP-S360, I’d rather settle on the Sony Playstation 3, since this console gaming device is also a concealed Blu Ray Player. You know, those kinds of things that you never expect to play a big role.

The Sony Playstation 3 may have been known for gaming, and of course Blu Ray game discs in particular, and a lot of us also knows that the Sony PS3 has been there even before other  blu ray players, but I can tell you, that this rig is powerful… if you are a gamer you would know that, because of a couple of reasons, first they have this periodical firmware updates that have been very helpful in adapting to the new technologies and that includes playing Blu Ray media content.

Right now, the Sony PS3 has the 3D gaming capability with its recent Firmware 3.30 update, and would have the 3D media playing capability sometime next year. You would know that PS3 would be there until newer blu ray players from Sony would come out and would at time surpass other blu ray players for its flexibility and adaptability.

Another reason why PS3 can be your best bet in playing Blu Ray content is that as far as I know it is one of the cheapest yet the most powerful media player alive today. Thats no bull… If Sony BDP-S360 is selling like pancakes a year after its release, the Sony PS3 has been also like that and more, even years before the Sony BDP-S360 has been invented and manufactured. You know, the likes of Blu Ray player that you can call the “granddaddy of them all“.

But since other people would still insist on stand alond Bluray players, which is the reason why I made a re-review of the Sony BDP-S360 since other people might want to see a second look, specially those people who ignored the blu ray player when it was released.

So there you go, Go for the Sony BDP-S360 if you want value, but if you really want value and futureproofability, then better think of other Bluray Players that could save you a lot of money in the long run.
