The Sony BDP-S380 Blu Ray Player is one of the recent additions in the Blu Ray player lineup of Sony for this year 2011. The Sony BDP-S380 Blu Ray Player is kind of an upgrade from its predecessor the Sony BDP-S370 Blu Ray player which was released last 2010.
The Sony BDP-S380 Blu Ray Player is what I can consider the entry level blu ray player for the Sony Brand for the year 2011 for it is the very first in the line of series for Sony’s standalone Blu ray players, that is to excempt Sony Playstation 3 of course which has already been capable of playing blu ray movies and games and even 3D games and movies ever since its timely updates on its firmware.
ALERT! BUY THE SONY BDP S380 CHEAP AND BRAND NEW HERE! Now is the best time to get this sleek Blu Ray Player from Sony WHILE STOCKS ARE STILL AVAILABLE! After all the Stocks have been bought it would be sold back off to the original price. You won’t get any better deal than that!
Since its already 2011, the Sony BDP-S380 Blu Ray Player already has all the basic and some advanced features already built in like internet streaming on Pandora, Netflix, Youtube and others. The Sony BDP-S380 Blu Ray Player also has apps for the iPhone, iPad and Android os Phones and tablets.
Just like the Sony Playstation 3, it also has the quick start and quick load scheme available on the Sony BDP-S380 Blu Ray Player, so you wont have to push a lot of buttons to be able to watch your favorite movie. All you have to do is feed it in and the rest would just play on itself.
Be wary though because the Sony BDP-S380 Blu Ray Player needs a Wi-Fi adapter just to be able to get a wireless online internet connectivity. That means without it you would still need to toggle through your lan cables so that you can be able to experience internet connectivity on your Sony BDP-S380 Blu Ray Player.
Jumping on prices, the Sony BDP-S380 Blu Ray Player has a price tag of $149.99 SRP according to the Sony US site. So that would give you an average of $150-$180 for this nifty new Sony BDP-S380 Blu Ray Player.
So some questions that I also contemplated were:
Is the Sony BDP-S380 Blu Ray Player already capable of playing 3D content?
Well since its just an entry level blue ray player then that means 3D content is not playable on the Sony BDP-S380 Blu Ray Player, not even a firmware update would make it a 3D content capable since if it does then expect the price for this new blue ray player to rise up.
Is the Sony BDP-S380 Blu Ray Player compatible with other brands of flat panels?
Yep, that is right, well since it is given that not everyone has a Sony LCD or LED TV then universality is the key for the sales of this product which means you can use the Sony BDP-S380 Blu Ray Player even if you have a Samsung or Panasonic or other kinds of LCD TV or LED TV at home.
Is the Sony BDP-S380 Blu Ray Player backwards compatible with DVD?
I don’t think so because the Sony BDP-S380 Blu Ray Player is considered a stand alone player for blu ray discs. But if it does, I still wouldnt risk it as of now, since the lens of Blu ray players as of the moment are expensive enough to get you a brand new one if ever it brokes down.
So, there you go, some of the information that you would need to know whenever there are problems on the Sony BDP-S380 Blu Ray Player before you buy it.

yes, you can stream movies without the use of a computer however you need to have high speed internet. you can either get the wireless adaptor or plug in a line to the ethernet port.
