sorry forgot to add, is the 380 or even the 370 an option then? Don't really need 3D, but prefer the NTFS and would like the built in wireless if only the 570 supported NTFS...firmware!!??

would love to buy one, need some answers plse....I want to use the file format support it offers, so
1) does the latest firmware support NTFS as well or only FAT32?
2) If i plug 2 HDD in the USB ports, 1 in each, does the player recognise them seperately like that?
3) will the LAN port see a LAN HDD?
For me besides the built in wireless, the 480 offers same function with added NTFS already. So need advice to buy mine on the weekend. My main aim is to use for Blu Ray and accessing .avi, .mkv etc from HDD's. Streaming is not a biggie as I am in New Zealand and most services are not streamed outside the US.
thanks, Gabriel

I did have problem with playing 3D Blu-rays using my S570 hooked up to the Toshiba 3D TV today. While browsing thru this portal, found the solution of having to configure the screen settings in the Blu-ray player. Now, its working perfectly fine.

How did you fix this? I'm getting the "pink screen of death" Any solutions??? Please help.

BDP-S570. First unit Locked up and refused to progress beyond reset and first function then locked up again. Second unit gives Pink screen of death when alternate BR/ DVD menu selection is chosen. Now Blue Ray Disc generates a significant vibration to unit .i.e. Player on glass shelved stand has intrusive vibration . Is this normal as the drive speed on BD increases noticeably .

I purchased my S570 a couple of days after Xmas (2010). I had just established a Netflix account and was eager to try it out using this player. It was easy to set up and worked flawlessly for over a month. Then, two nights ago, when I turned it on, it performed an automatic upgrade which caused Netflix and other video providers' icons to disappear from the internet video services. I worked extensively with Sony Tech support in an effort to resolve the issue, with no success. It looks like I'll have to ship it off for a factory refurbished replacement.

Same happend to me with a Sony Bravia 46HX800 and BluRay BDV E370. As John R said, the initial configuration was set to composite video until getting a HDMI cable to be connected. When the HDMI connection was set and the screen settings changed, 3D started playing normally.
Enjoy it!

I initially had problem with playing 3D bluray discs on this player. The message on screen said "The disc has recognised that your player and/or display does not support 3D playback” (I'm using an LG 3D TV with Sony BDP-S570 blu-ray player). Then noticed that the screen settings in the blu-ray player's configuration menu was set to composite video (even though normal pictures were coming through HDMI cable. I had initially used composite video to connect). Changed it to HDMI and picked the right screen resolution and aspect ratio, went through the screen test routine and the player was configured. And the 3D disc started playing as it should!

I just purchased my Sony bdp-s570-3d-blu-ray-player at Amazon.com for about $150. It works great and installed easily. Best recommendation would be to get an Sony HDMI cable that is audio/video in one. The cable was on sale at Target for $28.98. Just watched Avatar was awesome!
